So in reference to the book itself, I’d give it a thousand stars because this author and his writing is absolutely incredible and I cannot get enough of it. I’m giving the low star rating just because I’m disappointed with the way my book arrived right out of the box :( as you can see, the cover is bent and beat up looking with dark marks on it. This is of course something that doesn’t affect the functionality of the book, however, I’m one of those people that takes pride in keeping my books in very good condition, especially an amazing book such as this. If this sounds like I’m crazy or super picky I’m sorry but it’s something that definitely bothers me. I am going to try to return it I guess or maybe pick up in store because I want to support Yung Pueblo but I just wanted to say I was surprised and disappointed to see the book come like this (5 stars for fast shipping though!)

I received a free copy of this book from the publisher.I loved this book and found it challenging personally yet enjoyable conversational even to read. Fr Pivonka shares his journey with the Holy Spirit mixed with selections from the Bible, the Catechism, and papal writings to paint a new picture of the Holy Spirit and what it should mean to Catholics everywhere. Each chapter closes with a couple of personal reflection questions and a suggested activity like a prayer or a thought exercise or action to take.Father discusses how some are put off by charismatics and I will not demur from being one of them. However, his explanation and admission that some of the participants are in fact off putting was very helpful. After attending Mass one Sunday at a charismatic parish, I was confused and didn't quite understand what was going on around me. I feel like I know better get what they are trying to do even if I still find some of the ideas in that parish strange, which is okay.More importantly, Fr Pivonka talks about letting the Holy Spirit into our lives personally every day and every which way. Sometimes it may be big like speaking in tongues, but other times it is what he calls a nudge. I read that passage and thought that I had just gotten one such nudge, the unexpected arrival of this book from the publisher in my mailbox!This is not a book I would have picked up exactly because I don't much think of the Holy Spirit beyond the Sign of the Cross or Pentecost. I say a prayer every day to help me listen to the Holy Spirit, but I think He could be screaming and I wouldn't know. After reading this book, I am hopeful that maybe I am now better able to feel that nudge and hear that whisper. Fr. Pivonka really made the point about not forgetting this member of the Trinity and how we are all poorer for ignoring the gifts AND fruits of the Holy Spirit in our lives each day.I think that anyone who is lacking that real presence in their lives and especially the ones who may find such an idea off putting (like me) are exactly the ones who should read this book, but will be the first to say oh this isnt for me. IT IS. This book is not one I would have picked off the shelf at the Catholic bookstore, but I think it has actually made a difference in how I approach the Holy Spirit. What a blessing.

Father Dave has a wonderful sense of humor matched perfectly to his wonderful sense of the Holy Spirit. I have recommended this book to so many friends. I find myself re-reading this book and now I am keeping my own notes in relation to not only what I have read, but what action the Holy Spirit is calling me to do daily. Read this book only if you want your life to change! Father Dave is right - the Holy Spirit is truly the Wild Goose who prods us at just the right moment. Come, come Spirit of God.

I bought Fr Dave's book after hearing him speak at my church. He has such a down to earth, warm style of writing that makes difficult concepts more easy to understand and connect with. As someone going through RCIA to become Catholic, the Holy Spirit can sometimes be difficult to wrap my head around, but reading this book has given me new understanding and excitement that is helping me grow in my prayer life and is adding valuable preparation for Baptism. My RCIA instructor always explains how the "heart stuff" is so important to have with the "head stuff" and Fr Dave truly knows how to help open both our hearts and minds through the work of the Spirit with God's love.

I have been looking for a simple book explaining about the Holy Spirit and I find Fr. Pivonka's book so easy to read and understand. It has touch my heart and been given another anointing of the Holy Spirit as I read this book and watch his DVD series titled "The Wild Goose"I have been recommending this book to my friends and family.

Very powerful read with much wisdom as I journey my way of finding the Lord myself. Makes you think about a lot of things that we deal with in this world today. Thank you and Amen

Wonderful vintage book with a good warning for children about water safety! My boys love the story, I'll buy more of these books!

These books are truly wonderful reading for young children. In our family, the young ones sit quietly and enjoy what each page brings. There's always a "moral" to be learned, and an adventure along the way. They bring the reader and the child into another time and place, which is fascinating.

Kids love them.

Mike's book The Naked Lawyer helps explain the often confusing nature of lawyer's error and omission and GL insurance in a simple, concise manner. It also points out those lines of coverage necessary in today's ever-changing world. Do yourself a favor and take the time (it's a quick read) to read The Naked Lawyer. Like me, you may discover lines of insurance your own policies don't provide so you won't be naked should (god forbid) a loss occur.

Michael breaks the industry down into easy, understandable terms, ideas, and strategies. His firm is top-notch and this book, like Michael, is an excellent resource designed to help small firms and solo lawyers keep compliance with all of their insurance obligations.

Mr. Carroll has written a thoughtful and clear treatment on what insurances coverages a lawyer should have and, more importantly, what aspects are missed by most agents and policies. If you are a lawyer, you are uneducated about coverages for your profession until you read this book. If you insure lawyers, this is a must read so you can intelligently discuss these issues with your insureds.

Excellent discussion of a very opaque subject, that is critical to all attorneys in private practice, but who most lawyers don't want to think about.

If you want an insurance agent who is on your side and gives the best customer service around, call Michael Carroll. I'll never go back to Progressive for home and auto or anonymous professional liability carriers. Mike lowered my rates and found me better coverage.
