This is an amazing book! I am a SAHM & I use this book everyday with my 4 year old son & it has worked wonders with teaching him lots of important things! He is even learning to read words with the help of this book & will point to the words & tell me what it says before i even read the directions. There are so many helpful lessons to prepare your child for school & I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a way to incorporate some hands on learning for your child into your day!

I think the book itself is terrific! It covers all the necessary topics for preschoolers, and although it isn't colorful, the pictures are quite winsome. I made the mistake of buying from one of the vendors who described the book as having some wear on the cover and possibly some light marking inside. The workbook I received, besides having 31 of the pages already done, had 26 missing pages. I don't have a big problem erasing a few pencil marks, but some of those pages were done in crayon. Over half of the stickers were also gone. I wish that I had paid the extra few dollars and bought this workbook new. It is a great book.

Great addition to our home school curriculum. Lots of worksheets. Black & white tear out pages allow for simple instructional learning (color the big item green, color the small item yellow). Alphabet, 0-10, colors, shapes, size comparison (big, small), descriptive placing (on, off, on top, below), cut and paste. 4yo loves it so much h'd do 20 pages in a row if I let him.

This book is great, my 3 year old daughter thinks it's awesome and loves to do her pages every day and usually asks to do more. This book is really fun for little ones!

This is a good book but we have had better ones. It's all black and white so when it says to color red if the child can't read they wouldn't know. I like how in other work books it has the color shown so the child knows what color to use. Also some of the pages it says check all the things that are round and it's like two things so it really wastes the page.

I like this book is really basic so it's really for the little ones the thing that I dont line is that it's all in black-and-white

For the price, you cannot go wrong here. My 3 year old daughter feels like a part of the homeschooling crew (my other 3 kids) now. This is a BIG book! Well worth every penny! Plus, it contains material a 3 year old is actually capable of completing.

A great book to start out with, with basic preschool actives. there are many different actives to tray out. I bought this for my 3.5 year though some pages are a bit advanced, if I sit down with him and teach him they will be great fun.

About the Author

Eric Rutkow is an assistant professor of history at the University of Central Florida in Orlando, and the author of The Longest Line on the Map. His first book, American Canopy: Trees, Forests, and the Making of a Nation (2012), received the Association of American Publishers’ PROSE Award for US history and was named one of the top books of the year by Smithsonian magazine. He earned his BA and PhD from Yale and his JD from Harvard.

Great book.

I thoroughly enjoy books on history that read more like a novel than a dry textbook. this is one of those. Rutkow covers such a wide range of geography and social politics that it is impossible for the normal reader to verify the details he presents. When he covered the importance of theodore Roosevelt to the Western Hemisphere, primarily the Panama Canal, the author mentioned that TR earned his western chops while ranching in the Badlands of South Dakota. This is a jarring error that brings to wonder what other mistakes were made that are not so obvious. There are two Badlands, the other being North Dakota where TR spent his time. The title also implies the use of maps and there wwere none.

This book was a major disappointment. The subtitle "The United States, the Pan-American Highway and the Quest to Link the Americas" while addressed in the book, left a great deal to be desired. The first half of the book rambles on about early attempts to link the span with a railroad and only gets to the building of the highway later. The author;s writing style is not engaging and he tends to believe that a great amount of filler is needed to make the book look like more that it should be.I can not recommend this book. There has to be a better one on the subject out there.I received a free Kindle copy of The Longest Line on the Map by Eric Rutkow courtesy of Net Galley and Scribner, the publisher. It was with the understanding that I would post a review on Net Galley, Goodreads, Amazon and my fiction book review blog. I also posted it to my Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Google Plus pages.I requested this book as the description sounded interesting (and as I learned can be deceiving). This is the first book by the author that I have read.
