Sometimes I begin to read a novel and within a few pages I am drawn into a story that engages all my attention. The Jerusalem Puzzle is just such a novel. As I read about a mysterious manuscript dating to Roman times found by Sean Ryan and Isabel Sharp, their search for Susan, the woman interpreting the validity of the manuscript, who has vanished, taking them to Jerusalem then on to Cairo and back to Jerusalem again, mystery and danger, an environment of religious factions and suspicions, truth elusive, deaths by fire.....then I suddenly realized it was 1:30 in the morning, long past my bedtime, seeing I was barely halfway through the novel, feeling pleasure I had much more to read after breakfast the next morning, I knew I was reading the work of a master story teller. The writing is descriptive, informative, giving a sense of actually being there. All of the people they met, friendly and not, gave a very real depth to the conflicts in Israel. It brings home the message that evil is in the minds of some men and women, not amenable to reason, fanatic, and it is not restricted to any particular religion or cause. It makes it clear that modern electronic technology and constant vigilance is necessary less it plunge us deeper into the war against terror that already is taking us nearer to an abyss from which there will be no return. I enjoyed reading this book. I will read more of Laurence O'Bryan's work. I strongly recommend you read it. It's not just a novel; it's a warning.

Thrilling story by a gifted author who, in his spare time, provides generous and priceless assistance to other authors through a complete range of resources from mentoring, networking, editing, cover design to state of the art marketing. Thoroughly enjoy his books and found him to be a brilliant and gracious host of the recent writers conference in Dublin. If you are a reader, buy his books. If you are an author, make it a point to connect with him via "books go social" and attend the next Dublin writer's conference where you will become fully prepared for the life of a successful author. .

The Jerusalem Puzzle by Laurence O'Brian is full of suspense and action when a British archaeologist and his lady friend go to Jerusalem to investigate the disappearance of a colleague that was deciphering an ancient manuscript. What happens next is a fast and furious ride down the slippery slope of danger when a demonic maniac endevours to create a religious war in the Middle East,

THE JERUSALEM PUZZLEByLaurence O'BryanThis book is a continuation of the Istanbul Puzzle which I absolutely loved and definitely could not put down. The transition from The Istanbul Puzzle is seamless, in fact, The Jeruslem Puzzle is very much a stand slone book. Mr. O'Bryan's main character, Sean Ryan, remains a well drafted hero and his girlfriend, Isabel Sharp, is a superbly defined counterpart. I love the author's intense descriptions of all the Holy Places. Unlike Istanbul, I have visited Jerusalem, and I know the atmosphere in this city is unlike any other in the world. Mr. O'Bryan has captured the very essence of the Holy City, where the tangled web of Religious Beliefs literally thickens the air. When Max Kaiser, archeologist, and a colleague of Ryan's, is found murdered; then Dr. Susan Hunter, who was translating an ancient Manuscript disappears, Sean goes on the hunt. This long lost Manuscript could change the world as we know it, and he is determined to uncover its mysteries. If you love the rip-roaring thrill of Indiana Jones, and the Scientific Exploration of ancient cultures, you will really appreciate this book. Dan Brown, of Da Vinci Code fame, had better watch out; he has some serious competition from this brilliant Irish author, Laurence O'Bryan, whose writing is impeccable. As you read, you find yourself absorbing complicated facts and theories, almost by osmosis, as if you yourself were a seasoned scientist. This is a gift belonging to few writers and I salute you Mr. O'Bryan. I have already ordered my copy of The Manhattan Puzzle, due in October, and I cannot wait for it to arrive. If you have not read either The Istanbul Puzzle or The Jerusalem Puzzle you have some happy hours ahead of you. Both of these books are fantastic and a must read!!Mary Firmin, author Deadly Pleasures.

I recently finished all three in the trilogy and so glad I waited to read them back to back. Great action and I enjoyed the characters. Many welcome but surprising discoveries. It also gave me more insight and some understanding of the issues in the Middle East and how they are so intertwined. O'Bryan is a master of pulling you in with scenes painted as if I was truly there looking on as the story unfolds. Thank you!

I loved the first book in this series. It seems, looking back that there was adventure and suspense from the start. This book, not so much. Once it got interesting the book was really good, but it took me awhile to get into it. One thing I do like about this author's books. He writes about the towns, people and areas as much as the main story line. And I plan on reading the next book as soon as I g t it downloaded.

The Jerusalem Puzzle creates another intense look at an ancient city. This second book in Laurence O'Bryan's mystery/thriller series offers believable historical locations, cultural references, and puzzling clues as to the location, and drive of a mad man; the reader is able to look into this mystery's misery through the plight of the victims. There's also the purpose of war for financial gain--another failed repeat of history. I recommend reading this story along with O'Bryan's first novel, The Istanbul Puzzle. Istanbul Puzzle The Dark Horse of Shanghai

Book 2. In this series, a true mystery thriller. Ancient history and modern technology combine, to create a suspensefull thriller, set in the middle east of today. A lot of mystery and suspense, lies and deciept. Suggest if you read this series start at book 1.
