In fact, I have taken the principles offered in the book and have applied them to other areas of my life only to find increasing benefits. Most people look for an answer, a technique, or whatever they feel will bring them success in trading. The answer, as described in the book, is really in understanding our own emotions when approaching the markets. Since reading the book, not only has my trading improved dramatically but, after years of trying to control emotions, I allow them to reveal themselves, in trading and in other areas of life. This has given me more complete understanding of how I interpret information coming from the market and what emotions drive me to enter, exit or stand aside. This is an excellent book. I urge anyone who reads it to take time with it and think through it carefully. After reading the first couple of chapters, I found myself reading, contemplating the material, applying it to my own trading and then moving on. I've read sections of this book many times and my trading results have ben greatly improved and my enjoyment of trading has also expanded immensely. This is a must read for anyone who is serious about improving their bottom line when it coms to trading the markets.

This is a great book. For me, it provided many "aha" moments. For ex., when I read about emotional and feeling context, I have a new perspective into why it is so difficult to just trade your plan. You just cannot "will" yourself into being disciplined because your actions are based on very deep experiences from before but also on the present context. The previous trade or trades always have an impact and leave a mark. That mark is sometimes on the subconscious level and not readily in your awareness. When you are in that situation, your decision making process is affected to the point where you cannot fully trade to your plan. Just having an awareness that this happens, you can try to resolve as many contexts as you can and it will bring a new perspective and revolutionize your trading. Just a couple of weeks after reading the book, I have begun to approach my trading slightly differently. But, that slight difference sometimes is all you need to go from a losing or breakeven trader to a profitable trader. I also liked the concept of fractal-emotional context which explains why it so difficult to change some of your problem trading behaviors. All of us have a couple of them and they are a constant challenge. We feel like we have control over those behaviors but they keep popping back up periodically after we think we have moved forward which is extremely frustrating. Figuring out your fractal-emotional contexts could give you deep insights into some of the most persistent challenges you've been experiencing as a trader. This book is definitely a game-changer.

This is an amazing book! I am a SAHM & I use this book everyday with my 4 year old son & it has worked wonders with teaching him lots of important things! He is even learning to read words with the help of this book & will point to the words & tell me what it says before i even read the directions. There are so many helpful lessons to prepare your child for school & I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a way to incorporate some hands on learning for your child into your day!

I think the book itself is terrific! It covers all the necessary topics for preschoolers, and although it isn't colorful, the pictures are quite winsome. I made the mistake of buying from one of the vendors who described the book as having some wear on the cover and possibly some light marking inside. The workbook I received, besides having 31 of the pages already done, had 26 missing pages. I don't have a big problem erasing a few pencil marks, but some of those pages were done in crayon. Over half of the stickers were also gone. I wish that I had paid the extra few dollars and bought this workbook new. It is a great book.

Great addition to our home school curriculum. Lots of worksheets. Black & white tear out pages allow for simple instructional learning (color the big item green, color the small item yellow). Alphabet, 0-10, colors, shapes, size comparison (big, small), descriptive placing (on, off, on top, below), cut and paste. 4yo loves it so much h'd do 20 pages in a row if I let him.

This book is great, my 3 year old daughter thinks it's awesome and loves to do her pages every day and usually asks to do more. This book is really fun for little ones!

This is a good book but we have had better ones. It's all black and white so when it says to color red if the child can't read they wouldn't know. I like how in other work books it has the color shown so the child knows what color to use. Also some of the pages it says check all the things that are round and it's like two things so it really wastes the page.

I like this book is really basic so it's really for the little ones the thing that I dont line is that it's all in black-and-white

For the price, you cannot go wrong here. My 3 year old daughter feels like a part of the homeschooling crew (my other 3 kids) now. This is a BIG book! Well worth every penny! Plus, it contains material a 3 year old is actually capable of completing.

Eric Rutkow is an assistant professor of history at the University of Central Florida in Orlando, and the author of The Longest Line on the Map. His first book, American Canopy: Trees, Forests, and the Making of a Nation (2012), received the Association of American Publishers’ PROSE Award for US history and was named one of the top books of the year by Smithsonian magazine. He earned his BA and PhD from Yale and his JD from Harvard.

Great book.

I thoroughly enjoy books on history that read more like a novel than a dry textbook. this is one of those. Rutkow covers such a wide range of geography and social politics that it is impossible for the normal reader to verify the details he presents. When he covered the importance of theodore Roosevelt to the Western Hemisphere, primarily the Panama Canal, the author mentioned that TR earned his western chops while ranching in the Badlands of South Dakota. This is a jarring error that brings to wonder what other mistakes were made that are not so obvious. There are two Badlands, the other being North Dakota where TR spent his time. The title also implies the use of maps and there wwere none.

This book was a major disappointment. The subtitle "The United States, the Pan-American Highway and the Quest to Link the Americas" while addressed in the book, left a great deal to be desired. The first half of the book rambles on about early attempts to link the span with a railroad and only gets to the building of the highway later. The author;s writing style is not engaging and he tends to believe that a great amount of filler is needed to make the book look like more that it should be.I can not recommend this book. There has to be a better one on the subject out there.I received a free Kindle copy of The Longest Line on the Map by Eric Rutkow courtesy of Net Galley and Scribner, the publisher. It was with the understanding that I would post a review on Net Galley, Goodreads, Amazon and my fiction book review blog. I also posted it to my Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Google Plus pages.I requested this book as the description sounded interesting (and as I learned can be deceiving). This is the first book by the author that I have read.

We must not be the intended audience for this book, because, although we are indeed planning my wedding, we didn't find it particularly helpful. Being a atheist/agnostic combo who live in the Godless wilderness that is San Francisco, and who are planning a nontraditional wedding, we were at sea with this book. The book carries several assumptions which are not true for myself and my partner, which made the tone (of course your wedding will be deeply religious/spiritual, of course you wouldn't want people diminishing the sanctity of the ceremony by drinking alcohol during it, etc.) a touch off-putting. It is quite lengthly, and written in a slow, thorough style which would suit many readers quite well, but I found hard to scan, and the lack of an index made it difficult to find specific info. I think this book will be fine for many folks, especially those who are religious, but it didn't serve my needs.

I loved this book even though I'm not the intended audience at all. The author is a Christian pastor, we are atheists. The author says you should hire a professional officiant, we had my aunt do it. But we just basically ignored the preface and found the rest of the book very useful!She explains each part of the ceremony very clearly and includes a lot of wording options. Some are spiritual, some are secular, some use flowery language, some are plainspoken. Of all the websites and books I checked I did not find better wording options anywhere.Reading through all of the options was really helpful to see what things we absolutely did not want, vs what resonated with us. In the end, we started with a base of her words, and changed them or re-wrote parts until it felt like our words. This book gave us a really important foundation to build upon, and that was just what we needed.

This book proved extremely helpful as my now-husband and I were having a friend officiate our wedding and so we were starting from scratch and had to build our ceremony from the ground up. We ended up taking some of the passages from the book and personalizing them to add our customized flair. We received so many compliments after the ceremony (I'm sure this is in large part to how well our friend officiated!), and I know the well-written passages added so much meaning to the event and were different than a cookie-cutter ceremony.

This book is very helpful when planning a wedding. I created a draft for the bride and groom, and loaned them this book with some samples selected so they could pick and choose for what worked for them. This helped and also inspired them to know what they really wanted. I'd recommend this for an officiant or a couple who is not sure what they want yet but they want to ensure the ceremony is meaningful to them.

As a wedding officiant, I have purchased many ceremony planning books over the years. This has become my "go to" book, especially for couples who want a more secular (rather than religious) ceremony. I recently purchased the newest edition in the Kindle version, which cimes with downloadable pdf files of the example verbiage for different parts of the ceremony. This makes it easier to email suggestions back and forth to the bride and groom. I can't recommend this book more highly.

A couple of years ago, my niece asked me to officiate her wedding. She waited until 6 weeks prior, but I could not turn her down.I had never done one and I had no idea what to do!This book helped me through a very stress-filled time buy giving me a wealth of information.Some of the people at the wedding actually thought that I was a pro because of the attention to detail.A few months ago, my daughter was engaged and asked if I would perform her ceremony.Once again, this book is off of the shelf and on my desk.Best of all, I had e-mailed Dr. Johnson a question today and I had my answer from her within hours!

I could never have performed my first wedding without this book! The happy couple and I poured over all the magnificent choices for wording, agenda, tone, who-does-what and selected those things that were appropriate for the kind of wedding we had in mind. We added our own touches, but without Judith's abundant and loving information, we'd have been lost! Turns out the wedding was very very sweet -- tears of joy all around!

I found this book extremely helpful. We also needed a ceremony without any God references, and this got us 95% of the way there. We mixed and matched sections, revamped a couple sentences that still included the "G" word, incorporated personal vows and readings and - ta da - a personal ceremony with just 2 evenings' work.Our most frequent compliment from guests was how personal and meaningful the ceremony was. "A two kleenex-er", according to one guest. Most importantly, it was meaningful and sacred for us, and 100% true to our beliefs. Well worth the effort.
